Tauranga

Tauranga accommodation occupies a narrow peninsula between two arms of the harbour, ten minutes from the ocean beaches.

The Strand fills in the evening with restaurants along the water, and The Elms mission house has stood at the top of the peninsula since the 1840s. Inland, McLaren Falls Park spreads along the Wairoa River and the road on climbs toward the ranges. Apartments and holiday homes sit close to the centre.
