Mangōnui

Mangōnui accommodation looks over a sheltered harbour on Doubtless Bay, with old timber buildings strung along the waterfront road.

Baches and holiday homes stand on the slope above the village, most of them with water in the view. This was a whaling port, and the history is still readable in the shopfronts. Swimming beaches at Coopers Beach and Cable Bay are a few minutes around the bay, and Cape Rēinga makes a long day out to the north.
