Tasman accommodation gathers around Motueka and Tākaka, with baches, cottages and holiday homes a short drive from the Abel Tasman coast. Beaches, orchards and hill country sit close enough together to cover in a single stay.

From Motueka you can be on the water at Kaiteriteri inside half an hour, kayaking between beaches or walking a leg of the coast track. Over the marble hill, Golden Bay opens toward Te Waikoropupū Springs and the sand running out to Farewell Spit. The road in is a climb and a half, which is exactly what keeps the bay feeling like a found place.

Inland, Upper Moutere’s hop gardens and small vineyards suit slow afternoons, while Richmond sits on the Great Taste Trail with the whole valley to ride.
