Upper Moutere

Upper Moutere accommodation lies in a valley German settlers took up in the 1840s, on the back road between Nelson and Motueka.

The village runs to a church, a school and a pub with a claim on being the country’s oldest. Cottages and farm stays share the valley with apple blocks and clay hills, and potters have worked that clay for generations.
