Karamu

Farm country west of Hamilton frames Karamu accommodation, where cottages and farm stays sit among paddocks on the road out to Raglan.

The Karamu Walkway climbs from the road over farmland and through bush, a section of the Te Araroa trail. Nights are properly dark out here. The city is close enough for dinner if you want it, and the surf coast is the same distance the other way.
