Seabury Lookout – Classic Kiwi Bach with Views suitable for all ages and stages!
Welcome to our classic Kiwi bach, Seabury Lookout – a warm, relaxed riverside holiday home with beautiful views and a real “all ages and stages” feel. You’ll enjoy a glimpse of the ocean and world renowned estuary, a cosy fireplace, and a sunny lounge looking out to the park below, plus free Wi-Fi and off-street parking.
Outside, the whole front of the house is decking (with 13 steps up to the entry), giving you plenty of space to unwind, catch the sunset, or fire up the BBQ on the large sunny deck. It’s a great spot for families and couples alike, with games, magazines, and a separate space with a second TV and DVD player to help everyone spread out and relax. Once the original Postmaster’s house, our bach blends history with comfort. Perched high on the hill, you’ll love sipping your morning coffee (or evening wine) on either side of the bach with views to the world renowned estuary, and the mighty Tararua Ranges or the sunny deck while taking in views of farmland and the settlement.
Inside, it’s classic Kiwi holiday living. The main lounge has plenty of seating and a roaring fire for winter evenings, while the separate kids’ lounge with additional TV keeps little ones entertained. Bedrooms are simple, restful spaces and the bathroom is spacious with a bath/shower and separate loo. We’ve stocked up on puzzles, board games, and the latest NZ House & Garden mags for those slower holiday moments. Positioned close to the amazing Mewington’s Bookshop in Foxton, and indulge in a veritable wonderland of bookish delights. Half the home now has double glazing, making it extra snug on cooler nights to rug up and read.
The deck is a favourite hangout — with built-in picnic seating, an umbrella for shade, and gates to keep kids safe. When the sun sets, the village lights sparkle and the night sky fills with stars.
