South End Sanctuary
South End Sanctuary is a modern (completed in 2023) 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, dog friendly, family house that is fully fenced.
Wonderfully located near the well-known South forest perfect for walking, biking, and home to the adventure playground. The house is approximately 200m from the south forest entrance and 250m from the Hydrabad Drive beach access.
We are dog friendly and ask that guests let us know if they intend to bring their dog. If your furry friend is likely to use the furniture please bring your own blanket or similar. There are lots of dogs in the area and the beach and forest are dog-friendly however there can be pest bait/traps in the forest and dead fish/birds on the beach. The property is also fully fenced.
South End Sanctuary is self check in and self check out. We will be available via phone during your stay if you have any questions. Please note, there is a security camera facing the front door.
Kitchen & Dining
The lounge/dining/kitchen is open plan. The kitchen is well-equipped including a Nespresso coffee machine. The house also has a washing machine for guest use if required.
Bedrooms
This home has a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed, and a third bedroom with 2x king single beds. There is a main bathroom with toilet/shower/vanity and a separate toilet also.
Bathrooms
South End Sanctuary has 1 full bathroom with shower, toilet, and vanity. And one seperate toilet. Bed linen and electric blankets are on all of the beds. Towels are included, though we do ask that guests bring their own beach towels.
There are basic consumables provided such as liquid soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, laundry powder, and dishwasher tablets. We provide enough toilet paper to get you started but ask that guests source their own if more is required.
Outdoor Areas
This property is fully fenced. There is a BBQ for outdoor use, outdoor dining on the patio, and a grass area for activities.
Entertainment
As well as a smart TV the house has a range of games and books to keep guests entertained. For the more techy or those wanting to do some work, the house has unlimited wifi.
Nearby
Waitarere beach is considered a safe swimming beach, if wanted there is also a surf club and flagged swimming area.
In addition to the beach and forest, Waitarere has a great playground with a tennis court and basketball hoop. A four square which alongside groceries has house-baked bread, pies, pastries/slices, and scooped ice cream! There is also a gift shop and a local restaurant within the village.
Further away (5minute drive) “Lewis Farms” is a must visit spot with excellent play ground and creative/interesting store. They grow Strawberries and Asparagus, durring strawberry season fresh berries, and berry treats (ice cream, berries and chocolate etc) are available as well as Coffee!
House Rules
South End Sanctuary is a smoke free home, no smoking or vaping inside the house.
Waitarere is a quiet neighbourhood, please keep noise down between 10pm and 8am.
Dogs are welcome, please let us know that you are bringing your furry friend, please also check the yard before leaving and pick up and dog poo. There are bags provided under the kitchen sink and there is a wheely bin on site.

Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 7 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 7 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
