Our studio unit is a little bit of luxury tucked away in total privacy. It offers bed and breakfast-style accommodation just outside of the Wellington region.

Wairarapa is a beautiful region filled with activities for all tastes – from stunning outdoor scenery, great walks and river swims, shopping, arts, dining, wine tasting and more.
Wairarapa is a dark sky reserve with spectacular night skies – particularly in winter and around the new moon.
Wairarapa is also home to New Zealand’s latest Michelin starred restaurant – Wharekauhau – located just 20 minute drive from us.
Kitchen & Dining
There is a full kitchenette in the suite with microwave, hot plates (with pots and pans), an electric frypan. In addition we have a BBQ. Although there is a desk space, there is no set dining area inside the suite. A fold up chair and table is available for those who would like a dining suite. Outdoors there’s a picnic table and a small outdoor table with armchairs.
We offer tea, coffee and milo and a Nespresso machine with some complimentary pods.
A cereal breakfast, milk, fruit and orange juice is provided. Additional snacks and drinks are available for purchase.
Bedrooms
The unit is a suite style set up, think swanky hotel. The space is one room, with the separate bathroom. The bed has anti-partner disturbance, curtains are available on all windows if you like it dark however waking up to that view is something else.
Bathrooms
The entire suite including the bathroom has underfloor heating. The bathroom has a toilet, shower and vanity.
Outdoor Areas
The outdoor courtyard sits behind a high fence so you can be assured of your privacy. The main home is also far away from Tui Suite, so you won’t see or hear us. The gardens are kept curated, there’s a full concrete area with a picnic table and another table and chairs, and of course the spa. The suite also has it’s own grassed area where you can enjoy the view from bean bags or picnic blankets.
Nearby
Featherston is 15 minutes away by car – everything you need is available in Featherston plus 8 book shops!
Greytown’s quaint shopping village is 25 minute drive – well worth a visit and has some lovely cafes and restaurants.
Martinborough has a small shopping village and lots of vineyards and restaurants, and is 30 minute drive away.
There are lots of tourist opportunities in the Wairarapa from walks, river swims, scenic drives, spectacular nature sites and scenery, arts and crafts, sites of historical significance and much much more. Wairarapa is a dark sky reserve so the night skies particular in winter and at new moon are stunning. New Zealand’s latest Michelin starred restaurant is a 20 minute drive away at Wharekauhau.
Safety Features
The suite is fitted with smoke alarms and has a fire extinguisher and small first aid kit. We have security cameras fitted on the driveway.
Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 3 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 3 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
House Rules
Our property is not suitable for pets or children.
Due to the surrounding bush, we have a strict policy around any forms of fire – including smoking, candles, Chinese lanterns and fireworks.
As we are rural we ask that guest be mindful of water usage, and adhere to our septic tank requests that are outlined in the manual.
Tui is extremely warm and well insulated. With cooking and showering it does need airing to allow that steam to escape the space, particularly in the winter months.
Entertainment
TV with Netflix, and free-to-air channels. You are also able to cast your own devices to the TV. Some books, board games and cards are available.
