Te Kōpuru

Te Kōpuru accommodation stands on the Northern Wairoa River south of Dargaville, in country the kauri mills built and then left behind.

The river runs wide and tidal here, carrying the mud of the Kaipara. West of the village the coast opens onto Ripiro Beach, hard sand that traffic uses at low tide. Baches and rural cottages around the settlement stay quiet through summer, and the kauri forest at Waipoua is about an hour north through Dargaville.
