Mangawhai Heads

Mangawhai Heads accommodation clusters at the ocean end of the harbour, where the surf beach is patrolled in summer and the shops are close to the sand.

Baches sit on the streets behind the dunes, a short walk from both the surf and the calmer water on the harbour side. Low tide opens the hard sand for walking south. Whangārei is an hour north, Auckland an hour and a half the other way.
