Lumsden
Lumsden is the crossroads of northern Southland, where the roads to Queenstown, Te Anau and Invercargill meet, making its accommodation a natural stop.
The old railway station precinct sits at the centre of town, the Around the Mountains trail passes through, and the Ōreti River is close by for brown trout. Accommodation here includes a rural retreat with separate cabins for groups, big windows onto the mountains and a wooden deck for evenings outside.
