Kumeū

Kumeū accommodation means cottages and holiday homes among the orchards and vineyards northwest of the city, minutes from the cellar doors.

The vineyards were started by Croatian families who first came south for kauri gum, and some are still in the same hands. Roadside strawberries, weekend markets and the March A&P show set the local calendar, and the west coast beaches are half an hour on.
