Set in beautiful Ngāhinapōuri, The Gantry is a private, self-contained retreat designed for slowing down, switching off and enjoying your own space. With its soaring ceilings, polished concrete floors, open-plan design and carefully chosen furnishings, it has plenty of character without ever feeling fussy.
Think **cosy queen bed, beautifully appointed bathroom, incredible shower, fully equipped kitchen, comfy seating, cosy blankets, robes and slippers**—plus all the little extras that make you feel genuinely looked after. There’s complimentary Wi-Fi and Netflix for those moments when doing absolutely nothing sounds like the perfect plan.
The private courtyard is a favourite spot for morning coffee, an afternoon G&T or simply watching the rural world go by. And yes, it really is private—your time here is yours to enjoy at your own pace.
We like to think The Gantry is **luxury without the formality**. You don’t need to worry about being fussy here. Put your feet up, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the space.
And then there’s the welcoming committee… **Patrick the miniature pony**, who has a rather large personality for a little horse and is always hopeful that guests might have a carrot handy. 🐴🥕 Depending on the day, you may also meet Boss and Chief, our resident ginger cats, who occasionally conduct their own very selective guest inspections.
Although The Gantry feels wonderfully tucked away, you’re surprisingly close to everything. Hamilton, Mystery Creek, Te Awamutu and Pirongia are all within easy reach, while Waitomo, Hobbiton, Mount Pirongia, Lake Karāpiro, Raglan and the wider Waikato are perfect for exploring.

Kitchen & Dining
Everything you need to make yourself at home. The Gantry’s kitchen is fully equipped for anything from a quick breakfast and morning coffee to a relaxed dinner at the end of a day exploring the Waikato.
You’ll find all the usual essentials, plenty of cookware, crockery and utensils, plus a few thoughtful extras to make self-catering easy.
We’ve also stocked the pantry with some breakfast provisions, snacks and little treats—because arriving hungry is never much fun!
Whether you’re cooking up a proper meal or simply making toast and putting your feet up, the kitchen is ready for you to make it your own.
Bedrooms
The open-plan design gives The Gantry a lovely sense of space, with the comfortable queen bed taking pride of place alongside the relaxed living area.
The queen bed is perfect for couples wanting a little extra room to spread out and unwind, with cosy bedding and blankets ready for a good night’s sleep.
If you’re travelling as three or four, the sofa bed can be made up to accommodate up to two additional guests. It’s a simple and flexible setup that works beautifully for small families, friends or anyone wanting to share the Gantry experience.
Whatever your sleeping arrangement, there’s plenty of space to relax, recharge and make yourself completely at home.
Bathrooms
A beautiful, modern bathroom designed to feel a little indulgent. The star of the show is the incredible shower—perfect for washing away the day after exploring the Waikato or simply enjoying a slow, lazy morning.
Fresh towels and thoughtful touches are provided, with everything you need to feel comfortable and refreshed during your stay.
It’s clean, stylish and beautifully appointed, with just the right amount of luxury. Because sometimes a great shower really can make a holiday.

Your Outdoor Space
Step outside and discover your own little slice of the countryside. The courtyard-side deck is a lovely private spot reserved entirely for our guests—perfect for that first morning coffee, a quiet afternoon with a good book, or perhaps an evening G&T while the sun goes down. 🍸🌿
The clever glass doors give you the best of both worlds: you can enjoy the views and feel connected to the outdoors, while still having plenty of privacy.
And yes, **this space is all yours while you’re here**. We respect your privacy, so you can relax, unwind and enjoy The Gantry at your own pace.
Patrick, our miniature pony, lives happily in the front paddock and is always hopeful that passing guests might have a carrot or two for him. 🐴🥕 He may not be part of the courtyard, but he is very much part of the Gantry experience!

A Few House Rules
We want you to relax and enjoy The Gantry, so there are just a few little things we ask:
🚭 No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
🐾 No pets, please.
🔥 Please turn heaters off when heading out.
💧 Our water is rain-collected, filtered and drinkable.
🚽 We have a septic system, so please only flush toilet paper—paper bags are provided for anything else.
🤫 Please respect the peaceful surroundings and keep noise considerate, particularly in the evening.
🧡 Most importantly, treat The Gantry with care. There’s no need to be fussy—you are on holiday! If something gets broken or there’s a little mishap, just let us know.
🕙 Check-Out
Check-out is by 10am. If you’d like a little extra time, later check-out can sometimes be arranged in advance with Steph, so please ask.
When you’re ready to head off, simply leave the key on the table, close the door behind you and you’re all sorted.

Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 3 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 3 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
