Welcome to Harakeke Cottage B, a light-filled coastal sanctuary overlooking the calm waters of Cass Bay. Perfectly tailored for couples or solo travellers seeking a quiet break, this contemporary retreat pairs magnificent harbour scenery with effortless living.
The main living area boasts high ceilings, comfortable seating, including a long lie-flat couch, and wall-to-wall windows framing rolling hills and shimmering sea. Take your morning coffee out onto the private timber deck to soak in the fresh coastal air, or dine alfresco as the sun sets over the water. A modern heat pump keeps the interior warm and inviting in any season, complemented by a flat-screen television for quiet evenings indoors.
Preparing meals is easy in the well-appointed kitchen, outfitted with sleek white cabinetry, a full fridge-freezer, microwave, and kettle. Inside cupboards you will find plug in cooker, electric frypan, pots and pans and croquery and cooking and eating utensils. Nearby, a bright dining corner provides a sunny spot to enjoy breakfast while watching boats drift across the harbour.
The restful bedroom features a comfortable double bed adorned with crisp linens, colourful accent cushions, and flexible reading lights. Large windows let in plenty of daylight, accompanied by a cosy built-in window seat where you can curl up with a good book while gazing out at the scenic landscape.
A clean, modern bathroom offers a spacious glass shower enclosure and modern vanity, complete with an adjoining laundry area equipped with a washing machine, dryer for ultimate convenience during longer stays.
Positioned just a short 5 minute drive from historic Lyttelton or in the other direction to Governors Bay and Otiromiro Hotel’s wonderful offerings it is also just a brief walk from local reserve trails, this peaceful getaway serves as a wonderful launchpad for exploring the peninsula or simply unwinding by the sea.

The kitchen is equipped with sleek white cabinetry, a fridge-freezer, microwave, and kettle, alongside a plug-in cooker and electric frypan for meal preparation. An indoor dining table sits four guests alongside sunny harbour windows, while outdoor deck seating offers an ideal spot for alfresco meals with a BBQ on offer.

The cottage features one peaceful double bedroom with a super king sized bed, designed for a restful stay. Guests can enjoy flexible reading lights, colorful accent cushions, and a built-in window seat offering picturesque views across the harbour.

The home includes one modern bathroom complete with a glass shower enclosure and a sleek vanity setup. An adjoining laundry space provides a washing machine and dryer for guest convenience. There is a separate toilet and vanity unit.

A private timber deck overlooks sweeping harbour waters and rolling hillsides. Complete with BBQ and outdoor dining furniture and glass balustrades, it provides an elevated setting for morning coffee or evening relaxation.

House Rules
There are 2 cottages (Harakeke and Korimako) as well as the main house down a long drive. These are sited on a 4 hectare semi-rural green space with native plantings as well as the original poplar and pines on the lifestyle block. Privacy and respect for others is paramount so please be considerate. No smoking or pets, sorry.
Check in is 3 pm and check out 10 am please.
Safety Features
We have a portable fire extinguisher in the left hand cupboard of the kitchen and a smoke alarm between the kitchen and bedroom. There is a security camera on the outside lamppost only.
Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 14 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 14 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
