Nikau Cottage, Te Arai, Northland
Nikau Cottage is nestled amid six acres of stunning NZ native bush, yet close to beautiful beaches, golf courses and Mangawhai Village, just 5 minutes away. Peace and tranquility, the cosiness, the pure rainwater filled hot tub – Our boutique eco-cottage is ideally suitable for couples only. A perfect relaxing retreat and the perfect stopover to, or from, the Bay of Islands capturing the essence of a New Zealand experience.
Nikau Cottage is on full solar back up in times of outage, but still on grid. Natural rain water is collected via the roof. Our aim is to be carbon neutral, however we still rely on LPG gas for califont and heating hot tub.
House Rules
Smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes are only allowed outside the cottage using the sand bucket for butts…but let’s be honest, you should consider quitting entirely!
You have booked Nikau Cottage for the privacy and peace. We respect that, so please also respect our privacy and peace by keeping noise to a minimum and not having extra visitors (unless notified to us). We do not allow anyone staying that is not on the original booking request.

Safety Features
There are stairs at the base of carpark, but note, there is no wheelchair access. We suggest parking at base of stairs allowing for universal access to the main driveway.

Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 7 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 7 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
