How Bookably Pricing Works

This article explains what it costs to list a property on Bookably: the commission we charge, what your guests pay, the annual Plan for each listing, and how and when that Plan is collected.

The short version

• 0% booking commission. Bookably never takes a cut of a booking.
• No guest service charges. Guests pay exactly what you charge for the stay.
• Free to publish. There is nothing to pay to create a listing and go live.
• One flat annual Plan per listing, from $99 a year, collected from a payout once your listing is earning.
• The only other deduction is the standard card processing cost, charged by Stripe to accept card payments and passed through at cost.

Your annual Plan

Each listing carries one flat annual Plan. The price per listing depends on how many properties you have listed: the more you list, the less each one costs.

How and when the Plan is collected

The Plan is earnings-contingent, which means it is only ever collected from money your listing has already earned.

• Nothing to pay upfront. You publish your listing and start taking bookings without paying anything.
• Collected once a year, from a single payout. When your listing earns, the Plan for the year is taken automatically from one payout. It is never a percentage of each booking and never a separate invoice to settle.
• A listing that never books never pays. Because the Plan only ever comes from a payout, a listing that earns nothing costs nothing.

What your Plan includes

Every listing on Bookably comes with the same set of tools and services, included in the annual Plan:

• 0% booking commission and no guest service charges.
• Host Studio: a digital guidebook, a printable welcome booklet, and rebook cards for your guests.
• AI Host Assistant: drafts your listing, helps you reply to guests, and offers pricing guidance.
• Two-way identity checks and reviews: hosts and guests both verify, and both review.
• Bookably Loyalty: automatic repeat-guest discounts you set yourself.
• Bookably Host Community: a private community of New Zealand hosts.
• A listing on the Bookably marketplace, reaching guests across New Zealand and overseas.

Common questions

Does it cost anything to list my property?

Listing is free. Bookably charges 0% booking commission and adds nothing for your guests. Your only cost is one flat annual Plan per listing, from $99 a year, plus the standard card processing cost charged by Stripe at cost.

When is the Plan collected?

Once a year, automatically from a single payout, after your listing has started earning. There is nothing to pay upfront and no separate invoice. The Plan is never taken as a slice of each booking.

What if a listing does not get any bookings?

Then it never pays. The Plan is only ever collected from a payout, so a listing that earns nothing costs nothing.

Why does the price drop as I add listings?

The Plan is volume-based, so the more properties you list, the less each one costs. A single listing is $129 a year, two are $119 each, three are $109 each, and four or more are $99 each.

Are there any other charges?

No. There is no setup charge, no monthly bill, no booking commission, and no guest service charge. The only deduction beyond your annual Plan is the standard card processing cost, charged by Stripe to accept card payments and passed through at cost.

How does GST work on my payout?

Bookably handles GST as the marketplace operator. If your listing is not GST-registered, we collect 15% GST and credit 8.5% back to you on your payout. If it is GST-registered, the full 15% is remitted to Inland Revenue. We send you a monthly GST statement for your records.

How do I get paid?

Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect after a stay is complete. Funds land directly in your bank account, less the standard card processing cost and your annual Plan when it is due.

Can I leave if it is not for me?

Yes, anytime. There is nothing to pay upfront and no contract to exit, so you can unpublish or remove your listing whenever you like.
