Welcome to an easygoing beachfront retreat positioned directly opposite the golden sands of Wainui Beach. Perfect for family holidays, surfing escapes, or quiet coastal downtime, this comfortable three-bedroom home sits framed by leafy pohutukawa and rolling hills. With the beach just a thirty-second walk across the road, you can easily carry your morning coffee over to the reserve to watch the sunrise, check the surf, or admire views stretching from the old lighthouse up toward Makarori Headland.
Inside, soaring raked ceilings and warm timber panelling create a bright, airy coastal atmosphere. The welcoming main living area features comfortable sofas, vibrant textiles, and direct outdoor access through sliding glass doors. Large angled windows flood the home with natural light, while the dining table provides a scenic spot to enjoy meals while looking out toward the ocean and established greenery. A heat pump ensures the home stays cosy year-round, no matter the season.
The full kitchen comes equipped with a gas cooktop, built-in oven, microwave, and generous counter space for easy meal preparation.
Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, the home offers a versatile layout. Under pitched ceilings, inviting bedrooms feature colourful bedding and serene outlooks, including a master room with a super king bed that can split into twin beds. The queen bedroom has an external door, and the small double room has both ocean and hill views.
A tidy bathroom features a classic brick-surround bath for and a timber vanity. There is a separate shower and separate toilet. A dedicated laundry room complete with a washing machine, drier and tub, adds extra convenience for longer beach stays. Outdoors, guest amenities like bodyboards, a learner soft surfboard, and a beach umbrella make spending full days on the sand effortless.
Beyond the beach, the property is wonderfully suited for families, with the adjacent primary school playground giving kids plenty of room to play. Outdoor spaces around the home offer comfortable places to relax, whether you choose to unwind on the back terrace swing seat or sit on the deck with a glass of wine in the evening. Positioned on the front of the section with its own private feel, this tranquil home provides a classic Gisborne beach holiday experience.
Our water supply arrives from the sky so in summer please conserve this precious resource.
We rent a cottage behind the house to an older gentleman. He is very quiet and friendly. The cottage is completely private from the house, screened by fences and garden with only the driveway shared.

A fully appointed kitchen features a gas cooktop, built-in oven, microwave, and ample counter space for preparing coastal meals. An indoor dining table sits right by large windows looking out toward the ocean and leafy greenery. Our new large front deck is perfect for morning coffee while checking the waves. The back terrace with a swing seat provides a sheltered spot from the onshore winds.
Bedrooms
Three relaxed bedrooms sleep up to six guests beneath lofty, pitched ceilings. The master bedroom offers a versatile super king bed that can split into twins, while a second bedroom includes a queen bed with direct outdoor access. A third room contains a double bed with views of both the rolling hills and ocean.
Bathrooms
The home includes a full bathroom featuring a character brick-surround bath and a timber vanity. A standalone shower and separate toilet provide added convenience for group stays. A dedicated laundry room with a washing machine, tub, and drier makes longer stays possible . Our warm outdoor shower is washing off salt and sand easy after a day on the beach.
Outdoor Areas
Step outside to a sunny front deck offering broad ocean views across the reserve. A sheltered back terrace features a cosy swing seat. Guests also have access to an outdoor hot-water shower for rinsing off salt after a surf.

A cheerful living area includes a television setup surrounded by soft, comfortable blue couches. A well-stocked bookcase offers a collection of novels, local magazines, and popular board games like Pictionary, Scrabble, and Monopoly for relaxed family evenings indoors.

No parties please. Guests must leave by 11pm. NewYear exception by arrangement.
No pets on property including guests pets.
When checking out please pop damp towels in laundry sink, garbage into outside bin and load and turn on dishwasher.

Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 14 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 14 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
