Planning a trip around a place has always meant doing two jobs: working out which town is actually near it, then hunting for accommodation there. From today, Bookably does both in one step. Attraction search is live.
Type the attraction, not the town
Start typing in the search bar and, alongside regions, towns and events, you will now see attractions: Huka Falls, Cathedral Cove, Abel Tasman National Park, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Pick one and Bookably centres the search on the attraction and shows the homes in the area around it. No dates are filled in for you, because a waterfall does not have a start time.
A page for every attraction
Each attraction also has its own page, such as Accommodation near Huka Falls or Accommodation near Cathedral Cove. Alongside the places to stay you will find the things worth knowing before you go: whether it is free or ticketed, where to park, when it closes for the season, and a link to the official page. Each page also names the towns the nearby homes are in, so you know where you would actually be staying.
A curated list, checked at the source
We do not try to list every lookout and roadside stop in the country. Bookably keeps a curated list of the places people plan a trip around, and only the ones with homes on Bookably in the surrounding area. Every detail on an attraction page is checked against its official source before it appears, and checked again regularly, because tracks close and seasons change. We launch with attractions from the Bay of Islands to Queenstown, and the list grows as more hosts join. If a place that matters to you is missing, tell us at [email protected] and we will look at adding it.

The price you see is the price you pay
On Bookably the price you see is the price you pay. No platform booking fee is added for guests, and hosts pay no booking commission, so the price a host sets is the price you actually pay.
A note for our hosts
If your place is near one of these attractions, travellers can now find you by the attraction itself, not just the town. An attraction page appears once there are enough homes nearby, so every new listing helps put another place on the map.
