Riverbend Holiday Home — Relaxed Kerikeri Sanctuary
Nestled in a peaceful garden on the edge of the Kerikeri River, Riverbend holiday home offers a quiet sanctuary. Mature trees shelter the property which borders a regenerating native valley. From the expansive lawn guests can look across the water to the Kororipo Historic Reserve. This retreat provides an ideal base for families or small groups wishing to explore the scenic Bay of Islands.
There are 3 generous sized bedrooms plus a single bedroom, 2 new bathrooms, a light filled, open plan living and dining area and the original but well equipped retro kitchen. The main bedroom with en-suite has access to the deck and a sheltered, north facing garden. The second queen bedroom has a small private deck and views down to the river. There is a 3rd large bedroom with King Single beds and storage wardrobe. Off the hallway is a new bathroom and the single bedroom. A brand new laundry with tub and washing machine is tucked discreetly away behind louvre doors.
The living and dining areas step out onto a wisteria fringed deck which enjoys river views and a cooling breeze from the river in summer.
In cooler weather there is a heat pump in the living area and Kent fireplace to make the living area feel cosy. Firewood is provided in the outside shed.
Outside there is ample parking for 2 to 3 cars and/or a boat with a circular driveway to make access easy. Boat launching is 5 minutes away at Waipapa Landing.
The house is set on an acre of grounds with boardwalks and a path to a view point in the regenerating bush area alongside the house. The property is only a 10 minute drive to central Kerikeri township with all of its amenities and is a wonderful sanctuary from which you can for explore the Far North wineries, golf courses, beaches and historic sites.
Kitchen & Dining
The retro kitchen is fully equipped with an oven and Fisher & Paykel dish drawer dishwasher. The pantry is stocked with kitchen basics and milk is in the fridge for your arrival. Sliding doors from the dining area open to the deck and BBQ for easy entertaining.
Bedrooms
The home features four bedrooms to comfortably sleep six guests. You will find two queen bedrooms, one spacious room with twin king single beds, and a compact single bedroom. The master bedroom offers direct deck access and a private ensuite bathroom.

Two modern bathrooms service the property, including a master ensuite and a main bathroom. Each space features contemporary fixtures, sleek vanities, and heated towel rails. Fresh towels are provided for your convenience.
Outdoor Areas
Set on a peaceful acre of manicured gardens, the property borders a native valley and the Kerikeri River. Relax on the wisteria-fringed deck with outdoor seating overlooking the water. A boardwalk and gravel path lead to a scenic viewpoint in the regenerating bush or wander down the lawn to the Esplanade Reserve and river bank to enjoy the sunset.
Entertainment
The open plan living area features a TV for Freeview TV or internet streaming. There are games and puzzles available as well as lawn games for the outdoors.
Nearby
Stepping out from your sanctuary, a leisurely ten minute stroll brings you to the historic heart of Kerikeri, where you can explore the iconic Stone Store and neighbouring Kemp House, New Zealand’s oldest standing European buildings. Immerse yourself in the rich local heritage at the nearby Kororipo Pa, enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Plough and Feather Restaurant or coffee at the Honey House Cafe then wander just a little further along the tranquil riverbanks to discover the many Kerikeri waterfalls.
On Saturday mornings its a short drive to the Old Packhouse for the Kerikeri Farmers Market where you can enjoy local foods and produce. From there you can drive north to visit the beautiful beaches at Te Ngaere or Matauri Bay or drive East to walk to Historic Marsden Cross with its views across the Bay of Islands.

We love our holiday home and hope you will too. Please respect the No Pets rule as the property is not fully fenced.
Absolutely No Smoking or Vaping on the property inside or outside. We are a smoke free property.
There are beds for 6 guests. No extra guests without requesting this first with your host.
Please ensure all heaters and the heat pump are turned off when you go out during your stay and when you leave.
When checking out place all kitchen rubbish into the black bin in the garage lean-too as well as clean recycling into the blue recycle bin alongside. Wash any dishes, or ensure the dishwasher has been turned on before leaving. if you have used the BBQ please clean and cover it.
Lock all doors and windows and return the keys to the lockbox.
Safety Features
Riverbend house has timber decks that do not have railings and there is ready access to open waterways. Therefore any children need to be well supervised.
There is a First Aid Kit in the cupboard above the oven in the kitchen.
There are 2 smoke alarms in the house.
Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 7 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 7 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
