Tranquil Three Bedroom Cottage
Need a break from a busy world? Relaxing, comfortable & private. No road noise. Wake to just the birds, & sit on the patio to the sound of the stream below. Orinoco Retreat is a very well appointed 120sq/m (1200sq/ft) house. A genuine home away from home, WiFi, Netflix, & Nespresso coffee. 1km to Nelson Great Taste Trail. His and her bikes and helmets available. The house water supply is pure spring water. Located within a secure half ha (1 acre) paddock, a paradise for both kids & dogs. Exploring our 5 ha property, a selection of outdoor games, feeding the eels, & checking out the art gallery will keep everyone entertained. Indoor entertainment provided are 2 TV’s, 100+ DVD’s, a selection of board games, & a considerable library of books & magazines. For our guests convenience we have compiled a comprehensive clear file of information on activities, arts & crafts, vineyards, sightseeing and eating out in the Nelson, Golden Bay and Nelson Lakes regions, with recommendations and directions on how to get there. 15-20 minutes to Motueka, 35 minutes to Abel Tasman NP, 35 minute to Kahurangi NP walking tracks, 45 minutes to Nelson, & 1 hr to Nelson Lakes NP & Golden Bay.
Kitchen & Dining
The dining room and kitchen are separate. The dining room table has seating for six when extended. There is also two seater couch and 42″ TV. The small kitchen is fully functional with pretty well anyting you would find in a family home. There is a full range of pots, pans, cuttlery,crockery chefs knives, cooking utensils etc. There is a 4 plate ceramic top stove with full oven, a microwave, a fridge freezer, electric jug, toaster and Nespresso coffee maker.
Bedrooms
There is a queen bed in the main bedroom, a double bed and single bed in the second, and two singles in the third. There is also a sofa-bed in the sunroom, which is off the lounge.
Bathrooms
The bathroom has a very large ball and claw bath, a toilet and hand basin. The shower is locted in the laundry, which is also provided with a modern washing machine and clothes dryer.
Outdoor Areas
Off the back porch there is an outside patio with seating for at least six, and a four burner BBQ. The setting amongst mature trees with the sound of the Orinoco stream flowing passed below is magical. Out front the views are to the Mt Arthur range in Kahurangi National Park.
Entertainment
Aside from the 42″ TV in the dining room there is also a smart 42″ TV in the lounge, with access to Netflix, Youtube etc. A DVD player is provided with a choice of more than a hundred DVD’s to choose from. There is a large selection of both books and magazines. On request we provide a range of board games and jigsaws, and for outside a range of ball games.
Nearby
The Orinoco Stream flows through our property and feeding the resident eels is a popular attraction. The Motueka River is less than a five minute drive away, with options for both fishing and swimming. The Nelson Great Taste Cycle Trail is just down the road. With generally local traffic volumes there is a wide choice of on-road cycling options. Access to the Mt Arthur walking tracks is a 30 minute drive away.

Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 14 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 14 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
