Hello and Welcome to Evening Cove!
Our brand-new accommodation (studio units) are tucked away in the bush, surrounded by native wildlife. You might spot Steve the cheeky kaka, who loves greeting our guests, or hear Doug the wood pigeon, swooping past like a low-flying bomber. And of course, Bill and Ben, the local kiwis, are known for their lively 2 a.m. “conversations.”
We designed our accommodation with couples in mind, focusing on the essentials, we never compromise on when we travel ourselves: a super-comfy bed and a spacious shower with excellent water pressure. Guests will find a fully equipped kitchen, with a stovetop, a refrigerator, a dishwasher and kitchenware.
To help you explore Stewart Island with ease, we also provide a car for your use during your stay.
If you’d like to get out on the water, we can also arrange fishing trips or bird-watching adventures aboard our boat Te Tahi, giving you the chance to experience the beauty of Stewart Island from the sea. Please contact us to book.

Evening Cove runs fishing and bird watching charters around Stewart Island. There are a number of walks on the island.
Booking Cancellation Policy
Guests may cancel their booking up to 14 full days before check-in to receive a full refund of the booking amount. Cancellations made less than 14 full days before check-in are non-refundable. The 3% bank payment fee is non-refundable in all cases.
House Rules
No children as the property is unfenced and is in close proximity to the sea and cliff faces. free car for use during stay, needs to be filled up with petrol before departure.
