Awhitu Cabin

Our cabin is a “rustic getaway.” We have purposely avoided the inclusion of television or WIFI (although cell signal IS available). The cabin and its surrounding environment offer guests a relaxing, peaceful and romantic hideaway. Read a book, lounge in the outdoor bath with some fragrant oils, talk and contemplate while wrapped up in a blanket on the outdoor couch. This is a space where you do not have to feel rushed to do anything….just enjoy!

The cabin has a full indoor bathroom as well as an outdoor shower and the outdoor bathtub among the trees (where most guests seem to enjoy a lot of their time.) Don’t forget to bring your favourite bath-bombs, salts & bubbles.

There is a simple kitchen with hotplate, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee press and necessary utensils for you to cook meals. Plentiful linen is supplied for bathroom, bedroom & kitchen.

The large king-sized bed is very comfortable and guests often comment about how cosy and relaxing it is.

Also included: indoor and outdoor dining tables, outdoor furniture, drying rack, cleaning items. Many activities are close-by. Please note that the nearest shop for basic groceries is 15 minutes’ drive from the cabin so ensure you plan your stay with all necessary supplies.

Please note – there is no availability for electric vehicle charging given the location and particular set-up of the cabin.

Guests have full access including private parking to the cabin and all decks and observation areas. There is no-one nearby using the same facilities. It is very private. Guests pay for the sole use of the cabin and its associate amenities including the timber walkways to the observation decks, outdoor bath and parking area.

The cottage is next to a working farm. There is no access to the farm. Please do be aware that at times there are animal/farm noises.

The place is rural and remote and most of the time there is no one around. The nearest shop is 15 minutes’ drive away and you will need to bring your supplies. Full details will be sent once you have confirmed a booking.

The cabin is a relaxing, simple getaway with everything you need to detach from the world and have a basic, relaxing getaway with amazing views, plentiful hot water and lovely, cosy bed.

Please note there is no opportunity at all to charge electric vehicles given the location and set-up of the cabin.
