Bookably Concierge Guide

Bookably Concierge is the chat-based assistant on the Bookably website that helps you find, book, and manage accommodation across New Zealand. You do not need to learn commands or click through a complicated process to use it. Just type what you need in your own words, and the concierge will guide you from there.

It works on mobile and desktop, remembers the context of your conversation, and helps with real booking tasks, not just general answers. Whether you are planning a quick weekend away, a business trip, or a longer holiday with multiple stops, it is designed to make things easier.

Finding a Place by Destination

One of the simplest ways to use the concierge is to search by destination, dates, and guest count. You can type something direct like “Find me a place in Queenstown for 2 guests this weekend” and it will show you matching stays.

You can also keep it more casual if that is how you naturally search. Even something like “Queenstown this weekend” is enough to get the conversation started.

Finding a Place Near a Landmark

If you want to stay close to a specific attraction or well-known spot, the concierge can help with that too. Try “Show me stays walking distance from Sky Tower” or “Find a bach near Hobbiton.”

This is useful when the place you want to be near matters more than the suburb or exact address. The concierge uses that landmark as the centre of the search and shows you accommodation nearby.

Finding a Place Near an Event

If you are travelling for a concert, sports game, or other event, you can simply mention it in chat. For example, you could type “I’m going to Iron Maiden in Auckland, where should I stay?”

The concierge can work out the event location and timing automatically, then help you find places nearby that suit your trip. That saves you from having to look up the venue first and then do a separate accommodation search yourself.

Finding a Place for a Business Trip

Bookably Concierge can help with work travel as well as holidays. If you need somewhere practical for meetings, office visits, or work travel, you can search by business location in the same natural way.

For example, you might type “Find me a place near the Xero office in Wellington” or “I need somewhere to stay close to Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in Auckland.” The concierge can use known office locations to help you find somewhere convenient nearby.

Finding a Place by Vibe or Activity

Not every search starts with a destination. Sometimes you are looking for a type of experience instead. In that case, just describe what sort of stay you want.

You could try “romantic weekend getaway”, “pet-friendly bach near the beach”, or “luxury lodge for a ski holiday.” The concierge uses that kind of description to narrow the search and show places that match the feel of the trip.

Finding a Place by Budget

If price matters most, you can search that way too. For example, type “What can I get in Wellington for under $200 a night?”

The concierge can help you find options that fit your budget while still showing you the important details, such as availability, location, and what is included. This is a good way to set expectations early and avoid wasting time on places outside your range.

Planning a Multi-Stop Trip

If you are travelling through more than one destination, you can plan the whole journey in one conversation. Instead of searching for each stop separately, you can type “Plan a road trip from Auckland to Queenstown with stops in Wellington and Christchurch.”

The concierge chains the dates automatically and walks you through booking each stop one at a time. That makes it much easier to organise a longer trip without losing track of where you are staying and when.

Exploring a Property

Once search results appear, you can click any property card or map pin to explore further. The interactive map makes it easy to see where each place sits and compare your options visually.

You can also ask follow-up questions in the chat. Try “What’s nearby?” to see restaurants, cafes, beaches, supermarkets, and attractions on a map, or ask about availability, pricing, reviews, or the cancellation policy for a property you are considering.

Booking Your Stay

When you are ready to book, the concierge takes you through it step by step. It checks availability, confirms the price, shows you the cancellation terms, and then guides you through the booking form.

Payment happens right in the chat, so there is no need to leave the page to finish the booking. All prices include GST, and there are no hidden fees or guest platform commissions added on top.

If you need to create an account before booking or messaging, the concierge can help with that in the same conversation. You do not need to stop and work it out on your own.

Managing Your Bookings

The concierge can also help after your booking is made. If you want to see your reservations, type “Show me my bookings” and it will bring them up for you.

If you still need to pay, type “I need to pay for my booking.” If your plans have changed, try “Cancel my booking at [property]” and the concierge will show you the cancellation policy and any consequences before you go ahead. If you need paperwork, type “Download my invoice.”

Messaging Your Host

You can use the concierge to manage guest-host communication as well. For example, type “Send a message to my host at [property]” and it will draft the message, show it to you, and wait for your approval before sending.

If you want to check your existing messages, type “Show me my conversations.” That gives you a simple way to keep track of questions, replies, and updates in one place.

A Few Helpful Tips

You do not need to phrase things perfectly. Full sentences, short requests, and casual wording all work fine, so you can use whatever feels natural.

Because the concierge remembers the conversation, you can refine things as you go without repeating yourself. The easiest way to use it is simply to start typing and let it help from there.
