Your private retreat
The house sits among mature trees and established gardens, with native birds including tui, kererū (wood pigeon) and piwakawaka (fantails) regularly visiting the property.

There’s plenty of room to slow down: Enjoy a picnic beneath the trees, play lawn games on the large fine-fescue lawn, wander through the gardens or simply sit back and enjoy the view.

At the heart of the property is the huge private saltwater swimming pool. It is fully fenced and includes a shallow paddling area for younger children. The pool is not heated, but is naturally warmer than most pools due to being an in-ground concrete pool.

Peaceful, yet conveniently located
The property feels wonderfully private while still being close to New Plymouth and everything you need.

Please take a moment to read the information below before booking. We want our guests to feel informed and comfortable from the start, so your stay can be as smooth, relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
– Guests have private use of the house, pool, gardens and outdoor areas, with no other guests or residents elsewhere on the property.
– The garage, sheds and other outbuildings remain locked, along with one cupboard used for Airbnb supplies in bedroom 2 downstairs.
– Exterior security cameras are installed around the property for security and to monitor access to the home. There are no cameras inside.
– The upstairs bedrooms are accessed by a narrower, steeper staircase than you may find in a modern home. Non-slip grips are fitted and baby gates are available on request. A king bedroom with ensuite and the main living areas are all downstairs.
– As with many rural and garden properties, you may hear livestock or farm machinery due to working farms in the area, and insects or spiders may find their way indoors despite regular cleaning and maintenance. We avoid routine broad-spectrum spraying where possible to protect the bees and other beneficial insects in our gardens.
– The open fireplace is not available for guest use due to the chance of smoke in the home, but the separate wood burner may be used in winter by guests who are comfortable lighting a fire.

We’re locals and where possible, are nearby if you need anything during your stay. We’re always happy to help make your visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

House rules
– Maximum occupancy is 10 due to our insurance policy. Unauthorised guests are a serious breach of our house rules and may result in immediate cancellation of the stay without refund, subject to our cancellation policy.
– No pets (we are building the wildlife in the area and the property is not fully fenced).
– No parties, events or gatherings
– Quiet hours from 10 PM – 7 AM
– No smoking indoors
